Imagine the hum of a 648cc twin-engine beneath you, not just any engine but Royal Enfield’s storied 650, a powerhouse delivering 47hp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. Familiar, perhaps, if you’ve ridden the Interceptor or Continental GT, but here’s the twist: paired with a 6-speed gearbox and slip-and-assist clutch, the Classic 650 Twin gives you that torque-rich, steady feel of an RE 650, along with something more – an ode to the brand’s Classic lineage.

Structurally, the Classic 650 shares much with its sibling, the Shotgun 650. Both bikes use the same main frame, twin-shock absorbers, and swingarm, making them cousins in spirit. Yet there are defining touches on the Classic 650, starting with the vintage-style 19/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and a robust 43mm telescopic fork. Royal Enfield has added new MRF Nylohigh tires (100/90-19 front, 140/70-R18 rear), balancing comfort and grip on every turn.

With 120mm of travel in the front suspension and 90mm in the rear, this bike offers steady handling that mirrors the Shotgun 650’s balance. At 243kg, the Classic 650 is the heaviest in Royal Enfield’s stable, but with the biggest tank yet—14.8 liters, only bested by the Super Meteor—it’s ready for the long road.

The seat is positioned at a comfortable 800mm, with a practical 154mm ground clearance, making it a capable machine for varied terrains. True to its Classic roots, this model comes in four evocative colors: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome, with the latter two shades being a nod to the original UCE Classic.

Rumor has it that the Classic 650 Twin will make its first public appearance at Royal Enfield’s MotoVerse festival later this month, with an India launch anticipated soon after. For those who crave a ride where heritage meets heart, the Classic 650 Twin awaits, bringing timeless design to the modern road.

We're thrilled to have an early look at the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin, a bike that beautifully balances timeless design with modern engineering. This sneak peek has us eagerly anticipating its full reveal at the upcoming MotoVerse festival, where Royal Enfield enthusiasts will finally get to experience it up close. But it doesn’t stop there—following its debut in India, all eyes will be on its international release, including a much-anticipated arrival in the U.S. market. For now, we’re counting down the days until this iconic machine makes its way stateside, ready to bring the spirit of adventure to American roads.
